How long does an AI take to plan a month of social media posts?
By Feedhand editorial teamPublished
In our test on 27 Oct 2026, an AI planned and wrote a full month of 150 social media posts for 2 markets in 23.5–27 minutes, end to end. The run covered 75 posts per market (Türkiye and the USA) for a real brand, viralance.com, including captions and the reasoning behind each post. It did not include generating images or videos, which run as separate jobs, or the time you spend reviewing and approving.
The concrete numbers
- 23.5–27 minutes for a 150-post monthly plan: 75 posts per market, 2 markets.
- About 9.4–10.8 seconds of machine time per post on average (23.5–27 minutes divided by 150).
- 93–113 seconds for the AI brand analysis that comes first.
- $4.11–4.24 of AI model usage for the same run, roughly 2.7–2.8 cents per post.
Steps
- Give it your website or App Store / Google Play link, plus anything it cannot see: photos, a menu, a catalog, notes.
- Let it build the brand profile (business model, audiences, voice) and research competitors and your target markets.
- Let it plan the month across Instagram, TikTok, X and Reddit, with a short "why this post" for each one.
- Review the plan on your phone and approve, edit or drop posts before anything is shared.
Common follow-ups
Does a smaller plan take less time?
We only timed the 150-post, 2-market run, so we do not publish a figure for smaller plans. A single-market month has half the posts, but we have not measured how the time scales, and we would rather not guess.
Is the plan posted automatically when it is done?
Not on Feedhand today. You approve each post and share it from a ready, full-resolution package in one tap; auto-posting is coming soon. See whether an AI can post to Instagram automatically.
How many posts a month should the plan contain?
That depends on the platform and how much you can review. Our guide on how often to post on Instagram, TikTok and X covers the trade-offs per network.
